Welcome to CardDrop ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share during events. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use the CardDrop web application.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect information you voluntarily provide to participate in an event:

• Guest Profile Data: Name, "About" line, and social media links (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, etc.).
• Host Account Data: Google Account information (email/name) used for authentication via Google OAuth.
• Usage Data: Basic logs required for performance monitoring and security.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To Facilitate Networking: Your Profile Data is displayed in real-time to other attendees only within the specific event you have joined.
• To Manage Events: Hosts use the platform to generate QR codes and view the guest list for their specific event.

4. Data Retention

CardDrop is designed to be temporary.

• Auto-Deletion: All Guest Profile Data associated with an event is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers 7 days after the event is created.
• Host Control: Hosts may manually delete an event before the 7-day period, which immediately removes all associated guest data.

5. Data Sharing

• With Other Attendees: By joining an event, you explicitly consent to share your entered Profile Data with other guests at that same event.
• With Event Hosts: The Host of your event has access to the guest list.
• No Third-Party Sales: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third-party advertisers.

6. Security

We utilize industry-standard security measures to protect your data.

• Encryption: We use SSL/HTTPS to encrypt data while it is being transmitted between your device and our servers. Additionally, all data stored in our database is encrypted at rest.
• Public Nature: Please remember that the information you submit (Name, Social Links) is intended to be shared with other event attendees. Do not submit sensitive personal information (e.g., financial data, home addresses, or private health info).
